Dear pan-European friends in Montenegro,
We are addressing you about your First Regular Annual Assembly of the Montenegrin Pan-European Union, which is an important event in the work of your organization. We are glad that the Pan-European idea is developing and growing in our neighboring Montenegro. Our people have passed a similar path of survival in the environment of larger neighbors and have thrived to preserve their national identity, which we will be able to save in the globalized world nowadays only in a multicultural European community of equal people. Europe of the people is at the heart of the Pan-European idea, created over ninety years ago, and which is a true answer to today’s European challenges.
The current crisis in Europe is actually a crisis of political elites, who have lost the compass in the bureaucratic labyrinths of a constant search for a compromise. The answers to find healthy foundations of Europe will need to be found again in the ideas of the Founder of the Pan-European movement, Coudenhovi-Kalergi.
The re-institutional launch of Europe is sought to revive the old formula of the “French-German engine”. As every layman knows, the car is not only dependent on the engine, but on all its parts. In an example of Europe, it is all its peoples.
As the famous Spanish philosopher Jose Ortega y Gasset answered the question why he returned from America to Europe: “Europa es el unico continente que tiene un contenido”. And really the content of Europe is given by different cultures, which remain genuine but in constant interchange with other cultures.
There are no big and small nations, but big and small ideas. In seeking great ideas and the right answers to European challenges, our sister organizations can make a significant contribution to the European community. We are glad that you pay great attention to the young, who are the future of Europe, as our Founder had already established over ninety years ago.
In the name of the Slovenian Pan-European Movement, we wish you a successful First Regular Annual Assembly of the Montenegrin Pan-European Union (MPEU) and looking forward to the cooperation with our sister organization.
With the same good wishes, we welcome proud Montenegro aware of its roots, but also open to Europe and the wider world.

Dear professor Đurović,

First of all, I greet you on behalf of all the members of the governing bodies of the Pan-European Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina and I take the opportunity to thank you personally and all the other members of the Montenegrin Pan-European Union for a wonderful cooperation in the past. By establishing the Montenegrin Pan-European Union, the Western Balkans is richer for another organization that desires well for its country, the region and the whole of Europe.

Hence, with great interest we followed your every activity and gave our support as much as we could, and it was our pleasure to host the Montenegrin delegation at our conferences. It was an outstanding honor for us that your organization was officially admitted to the Pan-European family at the session of the International Pan-European Union held in Sarajevo.

At this year’s conference in Bihać we had the opportunity to talk with the Secretary General of the Montenegrin Pan-European Union, Vladan Lalović, and the others from the Montenegrin delegation, and we agreed with them to foster even closer cooperation between our two organizations and, if circumstances permit to work on implementation of joint project.

We hope that the regular session of the Assembly of the Montenegrin Pan-European Union will continue in good spirit, and I wish you successful work in the upcoming period to you, other members of the governing bodies, and the entire Montenegrin Pan-European Union.

With respect,

President,

Vanja Gavran
