ORGANIZATION OF THE MPEU

ESTABLISHMENT

Montenegrin Pan-European Union (MPEU) was founded on 17th of May 2016 in Podgorica. During the meeting of the Presidency of the International Pan-European Union (IPEU) in Sarajevo (May 2016), the MPEU became acting member of the IPEU, and on the Presidency of the IPEU in Osijek (October 2017) full member of the IPEU, as Member Organization which operates in Montenegro.

The MPEU is one of the youngest member organization of the Pan European Union. The MPEU has completed its organizational structure on 14th of November 2016 by establishing the MPEU Youth on the Founding Convention. The MPEU Youth leadership was elected, as basic precondition for their future work within the MPEU organisation. Moreover, besides MPEU Youth, the other MPEU bodies are: Assembly, Presidency, Secretariat and Council.

COOPERATION AND PARTNERSHIPS

During the first years of its functioning, the MPEU has achieved numerous tasks such as establishing contact and meeting with representatives of local self-governments in Montenegro (Podgorica, Danilovgrad, Tivat, Berane and Cetinje) where the MPEU reached an agreement on the conclusion of the Memorandum on Cooperation.

A similar memorandum was signed with the Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Political Science, University of Montenegro. Memorandum of cooperation is signed also with the Cultural-Information Centre Podgorica, as well as with German foundation Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and Ministry of European affairs.

PROJECTS

Jean Monnet is first obtained project of the MPEU, which is supported by European Commission, titled “Communicating Europe in Pan-European societies/CEPES” for period from September 2017-August 2019. The main partner in the implementation of this project was Croatian Pan-European Union and the Pan-European Union from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
