Montenegro’s chief negotiator with the European Union, Mr Aleksandar Drljevic, was also present at the conference, pointing out that: “A credible enlargement policy is a strategic investment in European security and prosperity and has contributed to peace and stability in the Western Balkans in recent years. Despite internal challenges, the EU must continue with a consistent enlargement policy towards our region and I really hope that we will soon have a positive signal towards opening the last negotiating chapter with Montenegro, but also opening negotiations with Northern Macedonia and Albania. ”
