After the working meeting, a ceremony was held on the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation, where the Mayor Bogdanović emphasized the importance of establishing cooperation with the Montenegrin Pan-European Union.
“Allow me, at the very beginning, to express my conviction that the joint cooperation of the two institutions in time ahead will result in concrete activities that will contribute to the spread of European ideas, which will undoubtedly help to achieve the key foreign policy objective pursued by Montenegro, and that is membership in the European Union. As we have agreed today, a number of activities will be realized in the coming period – beginning with scientific and professional meetings, round tables and tribunes, all the way to events for young people” – said Mayor Bogdanović.
President Đurović said that Cetinje is the first city with which MPEU initiated the establishment of cooperation, stressing that there is room for cooperation in many areas. “It is my pleasure that we have formally signed the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Municipality of Cetinje and our young organization, the Montenegrin Pan-European Union. In the region Montenegro last established its branch, but the Pan-European Union is one of the oldest organizations that cherishes and promotes European values. We are particularly pleased that the initiative for establishing cooperation first started with the Municipality of Cetinje and now we are symbolically ending this circle of partnerships, here in Cetinje. There is plenty of room for working together and I hope that some of our projects, which went to different donors and institutions, not only in Montenegro, but also in our partner countries, such as the countries of the region, but also France and Germany, will soon be completed, pass the selection and be able to realize in the way previously defined. Today, we only had a further discussion on the concretization of our joint activities. In our organization, we have staff of various professions, starting with culture, politics, law, economics and other areas where there is room for joint cooperation” – said Đurović.
