The second day of the international conference “Enlarging Europe, Greening and Securing Europe: Autonomy, Prosperity and Strategic Resilience” continued with the presentation and discussion of research findings developed within the project “Mobilizing Green Investment: Visegrad Group – Montenegro – Moldova.”
The session “Mobilizing Green Investment in the Context of EU Accession: Lessons from the Visegrad Group and Challenges for Montenegro and Moldova” focused on the policies, instruments and experiences that can contribute to mobilising investment for the green transition, particularly in countries undergoing the process of European integration.
The discussion brought together researchers and representatives of the project partner organisations: the Institute for Politics and Society (Czech Republic), Robert Schuman Institute (Hungary), MESA 10 (Slovakia), Institute for Sustainable Development (Poland), EcoContact (Moldova) and the Montenegrin Pan-European Union.
Drawing on experiences from the Visegrad countries and perspectives from Montenegro and Moldova, participants discussed the challenges of financing the green transition, the role of public policy and institutions in creating conditions for green investment, and the relevance of lessons from EU Member States for countries advancing towards deeper European integration.
The session also provided an opportunity to present the results of the joint research undertaken by project partners and to exchange practical experiences from the six participating countries.
The project “Mobilizing Green Investment: Visegrad Group – Montenegro – Moldova” is supported by the International Visegrad Fund and seeks to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and experience between the Visegrad countries, Montenegro and Moldova in the areas of green investment, sustainable development and European integration.
