In an interview for the Biznis.rs portal (9/3/2021), the President of the Montenegrin Pan-European Union spoke about Montenegro’s indebtedness. She pointed out that the public debt of Montenegro in the difficult COVID 2020 fell by about 14 percent, while with the issue of bonds of 750 million euros in December, the debt increased by 20 percent at the end of 2020.
“Montenegro is currently in a serious, triple crisis – health, economic and political, which is accompanied by a deep division of society. Tourism, on which the Montenegrin economy relies the most, in 2020 remained at only 10 percent of turnover from 2019, while industry fell below 12 percent in the Gross value added. The recovery of the economy depends on the easing of the health crisis” says Djurovic.
