The Montenegrin Pan-European Union has successfully implemented the Seasonal school of smart specialization called “MONTENEGRO: FROM THE STRATEGY OF SMART SPECIALIZATION 2024 TO THE EU AGENDA INTEGRATION 2025”. The school was organized in Kolasin in the period from October 7 to 13, 2019 supported by the Ministry of Science, the Ministry of Economy Montenegro and the DAAD organization from Germany.
The Seasonal school aimed at encouraging young scientists and researchers to, through creative and informal forms of education, further inform, educate and acquire skills in the areas highlighted in the Smart Specialization Strategy 2019-2024, that is important for the overall development of Montenegro. The Seasonal School was dedicated to the following areas: sustainable economy and innovations, energy and sustainable development with a focus on raising awareness of its application and importance in everyday life, sustainable and health tourism as an area for development in Montenegro, information and communication technologies as a vertical priority, an area necessary for intensive development, and the process of starting startups or entrepreneurial spirit.
Through diverse activities within the Seasonal School the intention was to foster the exchange of existing knowledge, practice and experiences, introduction to domestic and world trends in the field of smart specialization, and the affirmation of new spaces and stimulation of Montenegrin researchers in this field. Ultimate contribution of the Seasonal school was to strengthen the cooperation between lecturers and young researchers in order to work on the development of new creative ideas for the realization of Vision 2024.
The activities carried out in the function of achieving the goal were:
- lectures by prominent Montenegrin lecturers and experts from 4 Universities
- movie night with debate
